Helping children get the fuel they need to grow, learn & participate.
Many children are surrounded by food but unable to benefit from it. The Foundation for Feeding, Education & Development brings together evidence, expertise and lived experience to close the gap between food provision and food participation.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to benefit from the food, learning and social experiences available to them.
A platform for families, educators and healthcare professionals, providing resources & signposting to expert help and support.
CPD-certified bite-sized learning for parents and professionals, championing inclusive, neuro-affirming feeding practices.
Building the UK evidence base on feeding development and feeding differences, focusing on lived experience and real-world practice.
Shifting public understanding to recognise feeding development as essential, ensuring children with additional needs are not overlooked.
The FED Foundation is building a national network of families, professionals, schools, researchers and advocates who share a common goal: ensuring every child can benefit from the food, learning and opportunities available to them.
Whether you are seeking support, developing your practice, implementing change in a school, contributing to research or helping shape policy, there is a place for you within the community.
“The Eating as Learning Curriculum has strengthened our whole-school approach to feeding development. The structured, evidence-based framework has increased staff confidence and helped us create more supportive eating environments for pupils. We have seen children become more willing to explore foods through smelling, touching, playing and tasting, with progress recognised and celebrated at every stage of their feeding journey.”
